All of our brackets are of the highest quality aluminum or steel.  These mounting brackets are crafted from steel plate or billeted aluminum and represent our commitment to quality. All welding is Heli-Arc and all edges are smoothly finished. These brackets are guaranteed to fit and include all the necessary bolts, nuts, spacers, hardware, belt length recommendations and "easy-to-follow" illustrated instructions for simple installation. Your satisfaction continues to be our goal.

These brackets are designed for V-Belt applications (unless specified otherwise) and, in most instances, use the belt groove originally used by the factory. Most may be used with a serpentine belt by the use of after-market serpentine pulleys. Contact us for recommendations.

Compressor brackets are designed for the popular SANDEN 508 (formerly called Sankyo) compressors. SANDEN 510 and 709 compressors will also fit, as well as the new aftermarket compressors being used with the new R-134 Freon. Most brackets are available to fit the smaller SANDEN 505 compressor on a special order basis.

Alternator brackets are designed to accept the GM passenger car and light truck alternators used since 1962, both internally and externally regulated. These are the most widely used alternators and are available at very reasonable prices and with a variety of finishes. GM has a new, slightly smaller alternator on some vehicles. These are available with three different mounting ear locations, as shown below. These mounting ears use a metric bolt.

These standard brackets will normally work with the new 12 o'clock alternator. We can supply most brackets for the 10 or 2 o'clock applications on request. The 2 o'clock ear is usually used on low applications ONLY, when the alternator is turned upside down.

Before ordering your brackets, please left click on the image above (which will enlarge it) and determine whether you have a
LONG or SHORT Water Pump.

Chevrolet used short water pumps on all passenger car applications thru 1988 and trucks thru 1972. Long water pumps are used on most later applications. A diagram is provided to show the length difference. EITHER WATER PUMP MAY BE USED ON ANY YEAR CHEVROLET ENGINE BY USING THE CORRESPONDING CRANK AND WATER PUMP PULLEYS. If overall engine length is a factor in your installation, changing from a long to a short pump will reduce the length by approximately 1-3/8" on a small block and 1-1/2" on a big block.

Short pumps are a stock item at our store and most parts stores and Chevrolet dealers. Short water pump pulleys are available in chrome or aluminum from our store and various after-market dealers.

Chevrolet no longer carries pulleys for short pump big blocks. Small block short pump pulleys may be used IF the water pump flange HAS TWO Bolt patterns (8 holes).

Because of the large number of modified vehicles being built today that can use the long pump, we stock a variety of brackets for these applications. We recommend the use of a 1972 or later long pump, since they have a reinforced bearing area and a larger impeller.

AS WITH ANY PART OF THIS NATURE, MAKE SURE IT FITS YOUR APPLICATION BEFORE PLATING OR PAINTING.
